Rising metalcore crew Spiritbox are one of the hottest new acts on the scene right now. Fronted by former Iwrestledabearonce firecracker Courtney LaPlante, their fierce mix of metalcore, djent, alt-metal, and prog has drawn fans from far and wide. Following the release of 2021’s genre-defying debut ‘Eternal Blue’, they’ve dropped an official video for the pile-driving new epic, ‘Soft Spine’, which takes the band’s signature visceral sound and dials it up to eleven.
The video arrives during the band’s current North American tour with Korn and Gojira, adding a visual exclamation point to one of the heaviest tracks of the year. The video takes the band’s aggressive energy and transforms it into a stunning visual spectacle. Featuring a dramatic fight scene, the Orie McGinness-directed video sees goddess-like frontwoman Courtney LaPlante presiding over a brutal battle between cloaked warriors in an otherworldly arena. Epic visual effects bring the carnage to life, while the band performs in various ethereal locations throughout the arena, amplifying the video’s cinematic feel. LaPlante steals the spotlight, as usual, not only with her commanding vocal performance but also with multiple striking looks that deliver both face and fashion, complementing the video’s hard-hitting intensity.
Spiritbox will embark on a headlining tour in February 2025, with their show at Alexandra Palace on the 13th now official sold out. Support will come from djent masters Periphery and hardcore crew Stray From The Path. The band are currently in the studio with former Bring Me The Horizon producer Jordan Fish working on a new album.
