German power/speed institutions Rage have been storming stages for 40 years now, with classic albums like 1992’s ‘Trapped!’, 1995’s ‘Black In Mind’, and 2003’s ‘Soundchaser’ earning them lifelong fans worldwide. Now they are gearing up to release their 26th album, the amazing ‘Afterlifelines’, which finds the power trio doing what they do best: kicking ass and taking names. They’ve always had a sensitive side to them, though, and you get that in their symphonic new single ‘Cold Desire’, which they’ve just dropped the video for. Their new record is a double album consisting of 21 songs. “The first disc is called ‘Afterlife’ and comprises songs that we recorded as a trio, while the material on the second CD ‘Lifelines’ also includes classical orchestral arrangements,” explains singer and bassist Peavy Wagner. Wagner and his two band mates Jean Bormann (guitar) and Vassilios “Lucky” Maniatopoulos (drums) have cut more than 94 minutes of new Rage music, including what Wagner calls a “20-minute grand finale”.
